Bela Pelman counsels clients on corporate law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, as well as employment law, immigration, Russian data privacy law, and mobility issues. She also advises foreign investors on corporate and compliance issues to address when establishing a presence in Russia, including setting up wholly owned subsidiaries and joint ventures, or mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Additionally, Bela works with clients on Russian corporate and commercial matters, and antitrust, securities, and currency regulation.
A part of Morgan Lewis's cross-practice global workforce team, Bela works with other members of the group to provide integrated cross-border advice, counseling, and strategic planning across the spectrum of labor, employment, benefits, and immigration issues.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Bela was counsel in the corporate practice of another international law firm where she headed the corporate compliance department of its Moscow office.
Bela is a native speaker of Russian and is fluent in English.

Advised a global supplier of quality production termination of a senior employee, including support in negotiations of the dismissal terms
Advised an online store on issues related to replacement of the CEO of the Russian subsidiary, Russian employment law issues associated with the same
Advising one of the multinational TV entertainment corporation on various Russian labor law issues related to their Russian subsidiaries, including hiring and dismissal of the employees, drafting of the employment-related documentation
Assisting M&A project teams on employment-related aspects of due diligence and post-closing employee and personnel arrangements
Providing day-to-day support to our clients on various employment matters, including preparation of the employment-related documents
