Calvin M. Brien serves clients primarily in intellectual property disputes, patent prosecution matters, and global patent portfolio management. Calvin has litigation experience in all the major district court hotbeds for intellectual property, as well as in the International Trade Commission and the US Supreme Court. As a former patent examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office, Calvin brings a wealth of patent law expertise to his practice, having spent several years examining patent applications directed to computer architecture and software inventions.
Leveraging his technical background, Calvin regularly advises companies on export compliance issues arising under the US Export Administration Regulations. Calvin also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on election, immigration, and veterans’ issues.
