Candace R. DesBaillets defends and counsels employers in labor and employment matters, including individual and multiplaintiff litigation. Candace represents employers on matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, wage and hour, and employment related tort law. She also advises employers on wage and hour compliance, adverse action risk assessment, family and medical leave, and disability accommodation.
While in law school, Candace served as a judicial extern to Administrative Law Judge Steven Berlin of the US Department of Labor and as the managing editor of the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice. She also worked as a student researcher for the Center on Reproductive Rights and Justice, with the East Bay Community Law Center as a volunteer paralegal prior to law school, and is still actively involved in social justice pro bono work.
