Carol A. Field counsels and represents clients in the full spectrum of employment matters involving executive and employee terminations, discrimination claims, retaliation/whistleblower claims, noncompete/restrictive covenant matters, and wage and hour violations. She also advises clients regarding workplace safety and health issues involving enforcement, compliance, and workplace investigations, including disputes before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Chemical Safety Board, and OSHA state plan departments. Carol’s clients range across industries, including transportation, energy, retail, entertainment, financial services, and construction.
Carol has first-chair jury and bench trial experience, as well as appellate experience. In addition to her practice in federal and state courts and administrative agencies, Carol has represented clients in arbitration matters before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, JAMS, and the American Arbitration Association.
Carol successfully defended employers in high-profile US federal and state court lawsuits and administrative agency proceedings. One of her clients commented: “It is difficult to put into words how encouraging it was to be represented by someone with her skills and dedication.” The client’s in-house counsel echoed this sentiment, stating: “Her legal analysis of the issues in this suit and the law applicable to this case was impeccable. . . . Her evaluation and analysis was dead on.”
Carol also provided consultation to the Florida governor’s office concerning proposed legislative changes to the state’s whistleblower’s act.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Carol served as a senior assistant attorney general for the State of Florida and was an associate with two Miami law firms, representing companies in general civil litigation matters.
