James “Chip” Altieri counsels clients in connection with domestic and international business transactions. Chip assists institutional investors with their investments in private equity funds and other investment vehicles, including hedge funds, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure funds. He also advises US and non-US fund sponsors in a wide range of domestic and international investment fund and other business transactions. Chip also has experience representing private clients in mergers and acquisitions.

Chip draws upon a specialized background in the private funds space. Prior to law school, Chip worked as an analyst on Wall Street, where he specialized in alternative investments, including private equity, hedge funds and real estate. While there, he aided in the origination of investment vehicles for high-net-worth clients and provided reporting on the investments throughout their lifecycles.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Chip was an associate in the corporate practice at another global law firm.
During law school, Chip held a judicial internship with Judge Dennis Jacobs for the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
