David Butler is a seasoned trial lawyer, who represents clients in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings throughout the United States. While his practice focuses on commercial litigation and the resolution of business disputes, his cases include substantial involvement with constitutional and public policy issues.

David’s clients frequently seek his strategic advice in the development of alternative approaches for resolving business issues and other disputes. He also serves as an arbitrator or mediator in various proceedings. David’s clients include individuals, large and small businesses, institutions, corporations and governmental bodies, and national and international organizations and associations.
In addition to his law practice, David is active in local and national charitable organizations, where he holds various leadership positions. He currently serves as chair of the Israel & Overseas Committee of the Jewish Federations of North America, and is the immediate past chair of JFNA’s Domestic Policy & Government Affairs Council. He is also a past president of Washington’s United Jewish Endowment Fund and a past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, David was a partner in the litigation practice at another international law firm.
