David O. Johanson maintains a general corporate practice with a concentration in commercial technology, product development and distribution, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and licensing. David is well versed in advising both emerging and mature companies with regard to protecting and exploiting their technology and other intellectual property assets as well as distributing and marketing their products and services.
David has worked on a wide variety of joint venture and licensing transactions. His clients range from startups to major national companies in such fields as computer technology and software, communications, biotechnology, broadcasting, publishing, product distribution and retailing, manufacturing, sports and entertainment, and financial services.
David has been involved with two bar-related committees preparing draft federal legislation to address particular problems associated with financings, which are secured by intellectual property assets. He is a frequent author and lecturer at continuing legal education programs in the fields of intellectual property, computer, and technology law.
