Ester Chow advises both lenders and borrowers on the full spectrum of banking and finance matters, ranging from investment grade lending, private structured lending, acquisition and leveraged financings, pre-IPO financings, margin financings and other event-driven financing transactions, whether secured or unsecured, syndicated or bilateral. Ester regularly represents major global banks and financial institutions, credit funds, borrowers and private equity funds on structuring and negotiating complex cross-border financing transactions. Transactions advised by Ester consistently involve Chinese investment funds, state-owned enterprises and conglomerates across various industries. Ester is dual qualified in Hong Kong and New York.

Ester’s areas of focus include complex cross-border financings and private structured lending with bespoken senior secured structures. Being dual-qualified and having practiced locally in both Hong Kong and New York, Ester is familiar with the loan markets in Asia, Europe and the United States and regularly handles multijurisdictional financing transactions with a nexus to China, many other Asian countries, European countries and the United States.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ester worked at a Magic Circle firm and another global law firm in Hong Kong. Her career experience includes a secondment to the in-house legal team of a leading European investment bank, and one year based in the New York office of a global law firm where she primarily represented sponsors and corporate borrowers in US domestic leveraged buy-out and other financing transactions.
Ester is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
