Gail H. Griffin focuses her practice on intellectual property aspects of life sciences technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical chemistry, formulations, biologics, personalized medicine, and medical devices. Gail provides counseling on patent prosecution and trade secret issues to both domestic and international clients, and is skilled in all aspects of patent prosecution and procurement. She has experience conducting intellectual property due diligence, conducting freedom to operate analyses, and performing infringement analyses in various technologies.
In addition to providing patent counseling, Gail handles intellectual property aspects of all types of transactions, including license agreements, mergers and acquisitions, collaboration and research agreements, technology transfer agreements, material transfer agreements, consulting agreements, and settlement agreements, relating to life sciences technologies.
Gail rejoined Morgan Lewis in 2017 after having spent more than nine years as patent counsel for Teva Pharmaceuticals, handling patent portfolios and intellectual property matters for products in the therapeutic areas of women’s health, pain, and oncology. Prior to Teva, Gail was an associate for five years at Morgan Lewis, and also served as a technical specialist and a patent agent at the firm prior to graduating law school.
