Hien Nguyen represents employers involved in claims alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination; violations of family, medical, and pregnancy disability leave rights; and violations of wage and hour laws. She provides counsel in cases involving contracts, employee raiding, single-plaintiff lawsuits, and large wage and hour class actions. Her experience includes defeating class certifications, obtaining favorable class-wide settlements, and serving as national discovery counsel to a US nationwide retailer.
Hien advises and counsels employers about US federal and state employment laws that directly affect the employment relationship, including Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), as well as other federal and state statutes. She assists clients by conducting workplace investigations and drafting severance and settlement agreements and employee handbooks.
Hien began her legal career as an associate in the labor and employment department of another international law firm. Her prior professional and civic affiliations include service as adjunct staff for the Institute for Civil Justice unit of the RAND Corporation and as a volunteer for Feeding America and the Alliance for Children’s Rights.
