Hrishikesh H. Shah counsels clients on a wide variety of benefits issues, including compliance with the requirements of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, the Affordable Care Act, and other federal laws. Hrishi assists plan sponsors and trustees with operational issues, tax qualification matters, correction actions, and fiduciary duty issues related to their benefit plans. He has broad experience advising health and welfare, retirement, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans.
Hrishi works with a diverse group of plan sponsors that includes private sector employers of all sizes, public sector employers, non-profit entities, and multiemployer plans. He assists clients with the design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of benefits plans, and compliance with applicable laws. Hrishi also represents clients before regulatory agencies during audits and other enforcement actions, and assists clients with the correction of benefit plan errors through the US Department of Labor’s and Internal Revenue Service’s correction programs. His experience includes assisting employers with the design and negotiation of compensation arrangements for executives and key employees.
Hrishi serves as a board member on the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago Foundation. He is also a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Tax Section of the American Bar Association’s Joint Committee on Employee Benefits.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Hrishi was an associate in the employee benefits department of a labor and employment boutique firm in Chicago.
