While in law school, Jamal worked as a student attorney in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic, where he helped to incorporate a social enterprise venture, and participated in the Legislative Clinic, where he completed a congressional internship on Capitol Hill. He also taught entrepreneurship skills to local youth with the Urban Ventures Project and served on the board of the Black Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Jamal worked as a litigation paralegal in Washington, DC and was a board member for the Greater Washington Urban League Young Professionals.
