Jacqueline C. Gorbey represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of high-stakes litigation—including class actions and complex commercial and product-related disputes—in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Jacqueline represents clients from a diverse range of industries, including companies in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and medical device, manufacturing, and retail and ecommerce industries.
Jacqueline has experience handling matters involving product liability, deceptive trade practices, consumer fraud, premises liability, and contractual disputes. She advises clients in all phases of litigation—from pre-complaint investigations through trial and appeals. In addition to litigating, Jacqueline counsels businesses on litigation risks and risk management strategies.
Jacqueline is an active member of the firm’s Class Action Working Group and Recruiting Committee, as well as a contributor to the firm’s Well Done blog, which covers cutting-edge issues relating to food litigation and regulation. She also maintains an active pro bono practice.
Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer named in federal and state product liability actions, including an MDL proceeding, based on allegations of personal injury from the use of prescription testosterone replacement therapy.
Defended a national online retailer in a putative class action alleging violations of consumer protection laws.
Represented a major medical device manufacturer in product liability cases involving insulin pumps, drug pumps, neurostimulators, pacemakers, and heart valves.
Performed a litigation risk assessment for a national fashion retailer in connection with comparative pricing practices.
Defended a major automobile manufacturer in a putative class action alleging consumer fraud, warranty, and negligent misrepresentation claims.
Obtained an award of Combat-Related Special Compensation for a disabled Army veteran as part of pro bono practice.
