Kristin H. Altoff concentrates her practice on intellectual property (IP) counseling, including prosecution, portfolio management, and licensing matters involving trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition. Kristin counsels clients on a range of enforcement matters, and represents them in US federal court litigation, and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board cancellation and opposition proceedings. She also helps clients manage domestic and international trademark portfolios by providing guidance on trademark clearance, registration, and maintenance issues.
Kristin routinely counsels clients on global brand protection measures, including initiating and defending trademark opposition and cancellation actions, and, when necessary, litigation. She works with clients to address IP issues related to corporate transactions, including negotiating trademark licenses and related agreements. She provides guidance on the transfer of trademark portfolios during transactions and develops and manages all aspects of global trademark title update work.
Active in the International Trademark Association, Kristin is currently a member of the organization’s Pro Bono Committee.
