Laura Shortall has experience in cross-border matters across a number of jurisdictions including the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, with clients spanning the finance, technology, and energy sectors. Laura also advises clients on arbitration, litigation, corporate regulatory and compliance, employment and white collar crime issues in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Laura was general counsel for an international investment company in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) primarily focused on natural resources, alternative energy, and technology. She is admitted to practice in England & Wales.
Laura trained and qualified as a lawyer in England and has been in the UAE since 2014. She has a strong background in finance and was seconded by one of her previous firms to Standard Chartered Bank (Dubai), where she handled a range of contentious and non-contentious matters for the bank, working closely with the bank’s asset management team to help recover misappropriated assets worldwide.
