Lauren E. Sullivan counsels employers on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. She advises on qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive and equity compensation arrangements. She also counsels clients on the legal issues arising under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, the Affordable Care Act, and certain securities laws.
In addition to helping employers resolve day-to-day compliance issues, Lauren advises on complex employee benefits and executive compensation matters. Her practice includes designing, implementing, and administering equity, incentive compensation, nonqualified deferred compensation, and severance plans for public and private companies. Lauren also offers advice on all employee benefits and compensation-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. She negotiates recordkeeping, trust, and investment advisory agreements with industry leading providers.
Lauren previously worked as in-house counsel for a major financial institution. While in law school, she served as an intern for Judge Marjorie O. Rendell of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Lauren also acted as lead research editor for the Temple Law Review and worked as an intern at the Office of the General Counsel for Independence Blue Cross. Prior to law school, she worked at an employee benefits law firm in Washington, DC.
Lauren is a member of the investment committee for Women Against Abuse and is on the Young Professionals Board for Playworks (PA). She is an adjunct professor at Penn State Law.
