Lorraine Casto counsels companies in complex litigation, including intellectual property (IP) litigation, particularly as it relates to electronic discovery (eDiscovery). A litigator with appellate, bench, and jury trial experience, she represents clients in US state and federal courts, domestic and international arbitrations, and government investigations. As part of her practice, Lorraine works with companies to develop tailored eDiscovery plans and strategies to cost-effectively and defensibly handle all aspects of eDiscovery.

Lorraine’s experience includes computer forensics analysis, working with computer forensic experts, addressing and defending spoliation allegations and various other discovery disputes, motion practice related to discovery, taking and defending percipient and expert witness depositions on discovery issues, and presenting percipient and expert testimony in court related to eDiscovery.

She serves on the Pro Bono Committee at the firm’s San Francisco office, where she is responsible for facilitating various pro bono projects, including negotiating and litigating landlord-tenant disputes. She also serves on the firm’s San Francisco office Hiring Committee.

Prior to joining the firm, Lorraine clerked for Judge Patricia V. Trumbull in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Prior to attending law school, she worked as an IP paralegal in a multinational law firm and in the IP law department of a large multinational corporation.
