Leonard represents clients in contentious and non-contentious matters, with particular focus on the construction, engineering, and infrastructure industries. He has assisted clients with disputes and transactions in Singapore, South-East Asia, India, and the Maldives.
Leonard brings his experience of different dispute resolution mechanisms to the handling of contentious matters, and has advised and represented clients in arbitral forums, proceedings in the Singapore Courts, the statutory adjudication regime under Singapore’s Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act (Cap. 30B), and mediation. One illustration is Leonard’s assistance with concurrent representation of a foreign client in a 2-year long arbitration alongside multiple ancillary applications brought in the Singapore High Court, including an application to set aside the tribunal’s interim award on jurisdiction.
