Lucia Tang mainly focuses on intellectual property (IP) litigation, counseling, enforcement and prosecution, and preparation of infringement and non-infringement contentions, as well as invalidity opinions. Lucia also advises on IP-related matters concerning medical devices, automation, automobiles, robotics, and related electronics.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Lucia served as an intellectual property specialist for the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) at the US General Consulate in Shanghai from 2016 to 2018 where she worked closely with US rights holders on IP protection and enforcement issues, and advised and coordinated with US government agencies as well as China counterparts to resolve IP matters. She also analyzed and commented on China IP laws and policies for the USPTO to secure higher IP standards in China. During her prior six-year career at Novartis, Alcon, and Siemens, Lucia gained experience related to patent prosecution, patent management, Freedom-to-Operation (FTO) search, trademark protection, and IP enforcement.
