Mark I. Bentley advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property (IP), with an emphasis on patent portfolio establishment and management. His experience includes patent preparation and prosecution in a range of technical areas such as medical devices, endovascular intervention devices, gastrointestinal devices, ophthalmic devices, consumer electronics, renewable energy, aerospace systems, oil and gas, and automotive systems.
Mark focuses his practice on the design and execution of patent portfolio strategies. He has helped clients initiate new patent filings as well as manage extensive patent portfolios. He also has supported clients through several successful fundraising events and transactions that require due diligence and defense of intellectual property assets. Mark also serves as counsel in inter partes review (IPR) in the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). His practice also involves preparation of legal opinions on patent validity and non-infringement.
While earning his bachelor's degree in applied physics with a minor in math from Brigham Young University, Mark was honored on the Dean's List. He later earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University, where he served as editor of the BYU Law Review.
