With more than 30 years of experience, Mark J. Itri is well equipped to counsel and advise on the full spectrum of intellectual property (IP) matters. Mark regularly directs the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and negotiates and drafts technology transfer agreements, joint development agreements, and licenses. He also advises on strategic IP planning, patent and trademark portfolio management, opinion work, and due diligence in connection with technology and trademark acquisitions. Mark guides clients in all phases of litigation, including injunctions, Markman hearings, dispositive motions, pretrial proceedings, settlement, and trial.

Mark’s background in electrical engineering complements his practice focus on technology relating to electronics and computer software arts, semiconductors, microprocessor design, the internet, image processing, pattern and speech recognition, server and network systems, and mechanical devices and instruments.
Mark also focused primarily on patent litigation for more than eight years, serving as a first-chair litigator in the successful conclusion of several patent litigation matters.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Mark was a partner at another global law firm, where he previously served as head of its global IP prosecution, transactions, and strategy practice and as a member of its management committee.
Prior to attending law school, Mark utilized his electrical engineering degree working in research and development of microprocessor designs and flight control systems in the private aerospace industry.
