Michael S. Chang works with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the negotiation and structure of complex collaborations, licensing transactions, and joint ventures. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Michael was an associate in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical intellectual property litigation group at another international law firm, and was previously an associate focusing on patent litigation and counseling at a prominent intellectual property boutique.

Prior to attending law school, Michael gained technical experience as a neuroscience researcher at a non-profit eye research institute. While attending law school, Michael served as the managing editor of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology and was also a judicial extern to Judge Elizabeth D. Laporte of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
