Michael C. Polovich focuses on commercial and complex litigation at the trial and appellate stages. He also provides clients with labor and employment counseling and litigation services. Michael is comfortable in the courtroom, having participated in several trials and presented multiple oral arguments on appeal and on important trial motions. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Michael worked for a state Attorney General, where he maintained an extensive appellate practice, including successfully arguing a case before the state Supreme Court. Additionally, Michael handled trial work in state and federal courts.
Michael’s active pro bono practice includes providing appellate services to veterans and to organizations supporting the local arts.
Outside of his practice, Michael has extensive involvement with trial advocacy. In college and law school, Michael competed in both mock trial and moot court, winning numerous team and individual accolades. He also served for five years as the head coach for Vanderbilt’s college mock trial program, leading them to a 6th place finish at the national championship. Michael worked as an adjunct law professor at Vanderbilt, overseeing the mock trial board and working with the law school’s mock trial program. Currently he remains involved with trial advocacy, serving on multiple committees for the American Mock Trial Association. Michael has also been a guest lecturer in law school classrooms and CLE presentations on trial techniques and the Rules of Evidence.
