Michael T. Sikora concentrates his practice on patent litigation and other complex intellectual property disputes, including proceedings before US District Courts, the US International Trade Commission, and US Patent and Trademark Office. Mike leverages his technical background help clients with issues in various fields of technology, such as biology, chemistry, electronics and consumer goods.
In law school, Mike pursued his interest in patent litigation by working as a judicial extern for the Honorable Chief Judge John R. Tunheim of the District of Minnesota, competing on the Intercollegiate Mock Trial Team, and serving as a research assistant for Professor Tom Cotter, a leading scholar in patent remedies. He was recognized for his achievement in intellectual property scholarship, earning both the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) Award, 2017-18 and the ABA-Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property Law, 2018. Mike also worked as an Articles Editor for the Minnesota Law Review and earned a concentration in Civil Litigation.
Prior to law school, Mike worked in the Kazlauskas Research Group at the University of Minnesota, an evolution-based protein-engineering lab. He also has experience working in an industrial lab setting, where he engineered immortalized cell lines to increase yields of active-form peptides.
