Dr. Neelaabh Shankar focuses his practice on patent portfolio development and management for wide variety of clients, including startup companies, research foundations, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Neelaabh practices in the area of intellectual property law with emphasis on IP counseling, patent prosecution and litigation. He routinely assists clients in patent portfolio development and management, development of freedom-to-operate analyses, and patent litigation. He has experience in developing patent portfolios and patent/trade secret litigation, which allows him to navigate clients through complex IP landscapes and find the right balance between patent protection and business value.
Prior to attending law school, Neelaabh was a post-doctoral researcher in molecular and cell biology at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Rochester Medical Center and a M.Sc. (first rank with honors) and a B.Sc. (second rank with honors) from Panjab University, India.
