Nicola Y. Liu focuses her practice on tax planning (including counseling clients on the preparation of intercompany agreements to document licenses, transfers, and other organizational transactions, and supporting clients in mergers and acquisitions), and controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) (including advising clients on foreign tax credits). While in law school, Nicola interned at the IRS Chief Counsel's Office in San Francisco and represented clients through a Bay Area Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the Board of Equalization Taxpayer Assistance Program. Prior to her law career, Nicola worked for a large banking corporation in the United Kingdom.
