Patricia Thornton handles investigations on allegations concerning potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anticorruption laws, and the US Defense Department’s Defense Property Accountability System, as well as intellectual property theft, economic espionage, and false claims. Pat works with the US Department of Justice to bring witnesses to trial, answering subpoenas, and representing businesses in meetings with the federal government and regulatory agencies.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Pat was a senior investigator at a US-based multinational conglomerate. In that role, she led government, regulatory, and internal investigations that could raise legal or reputational risk globally. Earlier, as a United States Postal Inspector, Pat conducted, developed, and coordinated significant criminal investigations in a full spectrum of federal prosecutions focusing on financial frauds, securities fraud, corporate corruption, medical fraud, RICO, and other white-collar investigations.
