Paul Denham advises clients on a wide range of leveraged finance, general banking, insolvency, and restructuring matters. Paul acts for senior and mezzanine lenders, credit funds, borrowers, and private equity sponsors on acquisition financings and secured lending transactions. He regularly assists on structuring and negotiating UK domestic and cross-border finance transactions involving companies and institutions in Europe, Asia, and North America across a variety of industry groups and in emerging markets. Paul also has experience advising companies and creditors on liquidations (including CVLs and MVLs), administrations, and pre-pack administrations.

  • Advising a creditor on various insolvency and restructuring matters relating to its portfolio companies
  • Advising a credit fund on its secured acquisition finance facility to a UK based education provider
  • Advising a credit fund on the restructuring and enforcement of its senior debt in relation to a food supply business
  • Advising a UK plc on its debt restructuring and sale of mining assets, including providing insolvency advice and advising on the appointment of administrators
  • Advising a US travel group on the acquisition financing for its acquisition of a UK travel target
  • Advising a global engineering, repair, and logistics company on a $240 million syndicated secured term loan and revolving credit facility
  • Advising a Chinese state-owned food group as borrower on its secured acquisition finance facility 
  • Advising a private equity sponsor on the refinancing of a £13 million ($18.2 million) secured facility
  • Advising the sponsor on a leveraged acquisition financing (with senior and second lien lenders) in excess of $200 million
  • Advising a lender on the financing and refinancing of a $1 billion secured syndicated facility
  • Advising the lender on an ECA backed financing for a project in Spain
  • Advising a telecoms borrower on a $500 million revolving credit facility arranged by a syndicate of European banks
  • Advising the issuer on the restructuring and new issuance in relation to a $500 million bond issue
  • Advising the creditors committee in the restructuring of the financial indebtedness of a Polish steel manufacturer
