Salvador J. Juncadella consults on business and finance matters relating to the laws, customs, and lawyers of more than 25 countries—spanning from Mexico to Argentina, and including the Caribbean nations. Salvador brings to Morgan Lewis’s clients more than 25 years’ experience as corporate counsel for Exxon Corporation’s affiliates in Latin America. He also served as general counsel of Esso Inter_America, Inc., a Florida-based regional office of Exxon Corporation petroleum interests in the Caribbean and Central and South America. Salvador is admitted to practice in Cuba only.
A former president of the Inter-American Bar Association, Salvador has been recognized for his legal work by professional groups in the US and abroad. The University of Miami Law School presented him with their 1998 Lawyer of the Americas award, which is given annually to a respected member of the legal community who has made significant contributions to the field of international and inter-American law. He was also named an honorary member of the Lima, Peru Bar Association, in honor of his professional, intellectual and academic achievements.
His service in the Miami community includes appointments as vice president and member of the executive committee of the Argentine-Florida Chamber of Commerce, and election to the board of directors of the Commercial Dispute Resolution Center of the Americas, where he was also served as vice-chair and member of the executive committee.
Salvador founded the Juncadella Corporate Counsel Group (JCCG) in 1992 as an informal networking group for in-house counsel based in South Florida or whose practices focus primarily on operations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Formerly known as the South Florida Group of Regional Counsel, the JCCG’s first meeting of 10 members was at Le Festival Restaurant in Coral Gables, Florida. Today, the group boasts membership of over 300 in-house counsel in South Florida and beyond. The activities of the group are coordinated by Salvador as group chairman, in coordination with the group’s advisory committee. The principal purpose of the group is to provide opportunities for relationship building, networking, sharing of best practices and career opportunities among members. The group holds quarterly luncheons and a seminar every two years, in cooperation with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and the University of Miami School of Law.
