Greg Jackson is an accomplished trial lawyer with nearly two decades of experience litigating complex commercial disputes for Fortune 500 and other companies, private equity firms, and high-net-worth individuals. As lead counsel, Greg has successfully tried cases to judgment in state and federal court and has obtained numerous favorable settlements and complete dismissals for his clients. He has litigated in all federal districts in Texas and throughout the state and has also handled disputes in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New York, and Pennsylvania. Greg litigates across virtually all industry sectors and frequently represents clients in lawsuits involving oil and gas, real estate, construction, and transactional matters.
In the oil and gas industry, Greg represents clients in disputes involving joint operating agreements, leases, drilling contracts, and supplier agreements and in defense of environmental, civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and securities fraud class action claims. Greg has experience representing owners, developers, service providers, and management companies in the real estate industry in disputes involving contracts for sale, management and development agreements, and real estate fraud claims. In the construction industry, he represents owners and contractors in disputes involving engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and design-build contracts; engineering issues; and insurance coverage.
Greg litigates all types of partnership and shareholder disputes involving claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud, in addition to derivative claims. He litigates disputes involving asset and share purchase agreements, including indemnification and earn-out provisions and mergers. He litigates claims involving misappropriation and noncompete disputes, usually involving concerns over the protection of trade secrets and intellectual property. Greg represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies in complex disputes and has successfully litigated several bet-the-company lawsuits for clients who need to resolve them to close a funding or a sale. He often uses his litigation experience to help clients with litigation avoidance, strategic business planning, and due diligence in potential transactions.
Greg also represents clients in government enforcement matters, including False Claims Act cases, and handles internal investigations.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Greg was a partner at another international law firm in its commercial litigation practice. Before entering private practice, he was a law clerk in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
