Vishal H. Shah focuses on complex employment issues, such as wage and hour class and collective actions, noncompete and trade secrets litigation, and executive/partnership disputes. Vishal litigates matters in both state and federal courts across the United States. His experience includes fact discovery, electronic discovery, taking and defending depositions, motion practice and argument, evidentiary hearings, expert discovery, trial preparation, and appellate briefing. Vishal also handles disputes through arbitration and alternative dispute mechanisms. Vishal's preferred pronouns are he/him/his.
Vishal also regularly counsels clients on wage and hour compliance, protecting their trade secrets, and day-to-day employment issues. He currently serves as president of the South Asian Bar Association of Philadelphia.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Vishal practiced law at another international law firm, where he represented life insurers and long-term care insurers in trial and appellate litigation. His life insurance practice focused on a wide range of legal issues, including material misrepresentations, policy lapses, fraud, stranger-originated life insurance transactions (STOLI), and the secondary market for life insurance. His long-term care practice focused on premium rate increase issues, coverage disputes, and claims administration.
