Bringing in-house experience to his practice, Ed Winters focuses on the formation, governance, and distribution of registered investment companies, Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and alternative investments funds (AIFs) across Asia, Europe, and North America. Ed also advises on regulatory issues affecting the asset management sector, including the Alternative Investment Fund Manager Directive (AIFMD), the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), and the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).
Ed previously practiced in the London-based investment management group of another international law firm. Prior to entering private practice, he was head of legal for Independent Franchise Partners LLP and assistant general counsel at Ruffer LLP.
