For visitors located outside of the United States, when you click on the “Accept All Cookies” button, you agree that we can “use” (collect, save, store, change, transfer (including transborder transfer), and delete) cookies as described below. You also agree that your personal data (including any personally identifiable information) may be collected and stored by third parties located in the United States. Please see the “How Do We Use Particular Cookies?” section below for more information.

What Is a Cookie, How We Use Them, & How Long They Stay

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your web browser when you visit our websites. Cookies help us distinguish you from other visitors by allowing us to learn and remember your actions and preferences on our websites. In this way, cookies help us provide you with customized content and efficient navigation through our websites.

There are two broad categories of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies.A session cookie expires and disappears when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays on your device for a predefined time period or until you manually delete it.

Morgan Lewis does not use web beacons, SDK, pixels, or similar tools that work together with cookies to recognize visitors or how they interact with content. If you block third-party cookies through the Cookie Preference Center, this will also disable any related web beacons, SDKs, pixels, or similar tools that third parties may set on your device.

Managing & Disabling Cookies

You can manage or disable cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Please refer to the settings menu of your browser for instructions on how to change your cookie preferences. What Types of Cookies Do We Use?

We use four types of cookies on our websites: strictly necessary cookies; analytical/performance cookies; functionality cookies; and targeting/advertising cookies. Each cookie is described below.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the operation of our website, and cannot be switched off without impairing the functioning of our website. The cookies are set to respond to the actions you take, including navigating our website and using its basic features. These cookies do not store any Personal Data.

Analytical/Performance Cookies

These cookies provide statistical information, such as the number of visitors to our website in an aggregated and anonymized fashion, and show how visitors navigate our website. This helps us improve the performance of our website. We may use third-party analytic tools, such as Google Analytics, to help measure traffic and usage trends and to understand the demographics of our users.

Functionality Cookies

These cookies provide enhanced functionality and personalization on our website, such as remembering your preferences. They are set by the firm or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly. These cookies do not track your activity on other sites or store any Personal Data.

Targeting/Advertising Cookies

These cookies profile users or deliver ads across social networks. The social sharing tools that we use on our website include ShareThis, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. These platforms allow you to share our content with your friends and networks. They do not directly identify you or store your Personal Data, but they can uniquely identify your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools on our site.

First- & Third-Party Cookies

“First-party cookies” are cookies that belong to Morgan Lewis and that Morgan Lewis places on your device. “Third-party cookies” are cookies set by a different domain or site, typically when you use a specific function of the site such as playing a video or sharing a page. You should review the third-party’s website for more information about how they use cookies. Details of third parties that set cookies through Morgan Lewis websites may be found in the section below entitled “Cookies Used by Morgan Lewis.”

Analytics Cookies

Our websites use Google Analytics and Siteimprove Analytics to help us understand how site visitors use our sites and to continuously improve the user experience. Google Analytics is a web analysis service of Google LLC ("Google"). Information generated about your use of this website may be transferred to and stored in a Google server in the United States or otherwise outside of the EU.

Siteimprove is a separate multinational Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company located in Denmark that creates cloud-based tools and services for website governance. Siteimprove stores all data in data centers located in the EU and will not transfer them to subprocessors outside the EU/EEA.

Both web analytics services use cookies to monitor traffic levels, search queries, and site visits. Google and Siteimprove will independently use this information to measure your activity on our website, compile statistical reports on overall content interaction activity, and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

Morgan Lewis has activated the IP anonymization features in Google Analytics and Siteimprove Analytics. As a result, they will anonymize a visitor IP address. Since IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google Analytics or by Siteimprove within the UK or EEA before the fully anonymized data set leaves these territories.

For more information about Google Analytics cookies, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics entirely, Google has developed an opt-out browser add-on that you can download and install for your web browser here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

For more information about Siteimprove Analytics cookies, please see Siteimprove’s privacy policy: https://siteimprove.com/en/privacy.

How Do We Use Particular Cookies?

Morgan Lewis does not collect any Personal Data through our first-party cookies, nor do we share any Personal Data with third parties. Information about the cookies we have used on our website over the last twelve months is available here.

For all other cookies that do collect Personal Data, the data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and 7 (1) GDPR).
