Jason Alderson’s diverse practice includes advising or representing companies facing financial distress, chapter 11 debtors, official and unofficial unsecured creditors’ committees in large and complex cases, and individual creditors. His practice also spans a wide variety of industries, with a particular focus on retail, media and entertainment, food and beverage, packaging, manufacturing, energy, and ocean shipping and offshore oil among other transportation sectors. Armed with 15 years of experience and buttressed with practical know-how as a former business owner, Jason offers multidimensional solutions and first-hand experience to distressed businesses and creditors alike as they navigate the restructuring process.
Jason’s committee experience includes more than 15 official creditors’ committee representations, and his bankruptcy practice generally captures all aspects of a large and complex chapter 11 case, including large creditors with billions in claims, debtor-in-possession financing, 363 sales, landlord/tenant, plan administrators, and liquidating trustees. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Jason was an associate at the New York office of another global law firm.
