John V. Gorman
John V. Gorman is a leader of the firm’s global intellectual property (IP) disputes practice and leads the Philadelphia and Wilmington IP practice groups. He previously served as managing partner of the Wilmington office. With nearly 30 years of litigation experience, John is a seasoned first-chair litigator who represents clients in complex commercial and IP disputes. He counsels a diverse group of clients, from global corporations to research institutions and nonprofits. John represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes patent, licensing, contract, trade secret, trademark, and copyright disputes.
John has tried cases in federal and state courts nationwide and guides clients through all phases of litigation from inception through trial and post-trial appeals.
John has litigated numerous patent infringement and commercial disputes across the United States, including dozens of cases in Delaware courts. He represents clients across a broad range of industries and technologies, including consumer and industrial products, fintech, gene therapy, medical devices, computers and computer products, semiconductor technology, software, gaming, and mobile devices.
John is active in the firm’s pro bono practice.
