Firms Are Assembling Multidisciplinary Teams to Help Clients Anticipate, Navigate and Contain Crises Before They Explode, ABA Journal

Chair-Elect David McManus spoke with ABA Journal about the growing role of multidisciplinary crisis management teams in helping organizations prepare for, respond to, and recover from high-stakes events.

David discussed how Morgan Lewis formalized its crisis management team by drawing on the firm's depth across practices and collaborating with external professionals, including public relations, cybersecurity, and regulatory consultants, to help clients address complex, fast-moving situations. He also noted that effective crisis management extends beyond immediate response to helping organizations reduce future risk through proactive planning and organizational change. As David explained, "Over the last several years, we recognized that we have this depth of expertise and that any crisis generally requires a multidisciplinary approach."
