Happy Holidays and welcome to the second volume of the Global Network alumni enewsletter. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and comments about this new publication with us following our inaugural issue in June. We have a great next edition that we hope you will enjoy.

Our firm has tremendous news as we move into our fiscal year 2015. Morgan Lewis welcomed more than 750 lawyers, legal professionals, and staff from Bingham McCutchen on November 24. We have expanded our capabilities, including the addition of leading Telecommunications, Media and Technology and Structured Transactions practices. Between the Morgan Lewis and Bingham lawyers, we have significant experience in key industry sectors – energy, financial services, life sciences, retail and technology. We have also increased our size, scale and scope to create a firm that has 300 lawyers in New York City, as well as 400 lawyers in each of California and Washington, DC, and we are among the largest firms in Boston. Maintaining our commitment to delivering the highest quality of legal service, our combined firm has nearly 300 lawyers ranked in Chambers USA and Chambers Global and numerous additional credentials.

After many meetings and discussions with our expanded team, we are thrilled as we see a true synergy of cultures - both committed to excellence – knitting together to the benefit of our clients, attorneys, and colleagues. Morgan Lewis is now comprised of nearly 2,000 lawyers serving clients via 28 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I will continue to reach out to our alumni directly as this new chapter at Morgan Lewis evolves.

For this edition, we have an impressive line-up of alumni profiles. For our Alumni Spotlight, we feature our former litigation colleague John Schultz, who is Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Hewlett-Packard in Silicon Valley. As you will read, our alumni are at the center of global industry changes, dynamic product innovations, and shifting business models for legal services. They are also getting married, raising families, and sharing their gifts through service to their communities – and coming back to Morgan Lewis! We hope these stories will inspire you and help you connect with one another.

As I begin my term as Chair of Morgan Lewis, it cannot be said enough how much we value our former colleagues. Whether it is through one of our Morgan Lewis events, or other activities where we may cross paths, we welcome the opportunity to keep in touch with you.
