• The extensive reach of U.S. sanctions is now, more than ever, a critical consideration to any global enterprise. Imposition of penalties for violations is high on the U.S. government's priority list.
• A November Executive Order expands U.S. extraterritorial jurisdiction  in certain cases against foreign/non-U.S. violators' successors, parents, and subsidiaries. 
• A new general license became available in October for exports of food to Sudan and Iran.
