Real Property 201 Series: Due Diligence — Environmental

Wednesday, April 1, 2015
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Please join Camarin Madigan and Deborah Quick as they host a one-hour webinar for the California Bar’s Real Property Law Section on environmental due diligence.

Identifying and managing environmental risks associated with real estate transactions in California requires integrating an understanding of federal, state, and local laws with the facts on the ground and your client’s business objectives. This webinar will focus on identifying issues associated with ongoing operations and transfer of permits in the context of acquisitions of developed properties. We will review the required and recommended environmental due diligence for successful real estate transactions, covering hazardous and toxic materials, natural resources and local permitting, as well as ongoing obligations arising from development agreements and mitigations imposed pursuant to NEPA and CEQA. The webinar will also review techniques for addressing environmental risks in contract drafting and discuss basic “dos and don’ts.”
