The number of people in the American workforce not covered by any type of retirement plan, at nearly 50%, is staggering. Five states - California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington - have passed laws paving the way to offer state-run retirement plans, and eighteen additional states are considering such a measure. We bring together experts at the forefront of this important public initiative to discuss both opportunities and challenges associated with bringing these plans to fruition.
