In recent years, employers have increasingly turned to independent contractors and staffing agencies to augment their staffing needs or as the basis of their business model. While these nontraditional employment relationships provide certain benefits, they also present a minefield of employment law and other risks. During this session we will address the risks that these relationships pose and how to minimize those risks. We will also discuss the possible Trump-administration changes regarding DOL guidance on who qualifies as an independent contractor and what circumstances will create joint employment liability.
