Morgan Lewis is pleased to announce that energy partner John Matthews will be moderating a panel at the Decommissioning Strategy Forum in Nashville, TN. John will speak on the panel "Alternate Pathways for Decommissioning and Strategic Trust Fund Management" on Thursday, June 7 at 8:45–10:30 AM.
This module will provide a thorough discussion of the strategic decisions facing the utilities, including when to decommission (now or later), and the relative trade-offs of the approaches - DECON, SAFSTOR, ENTOMB. Adequacy of the decommissioning trust fund reserves and time required for funds to grow to adequate levels, implications of transferring responsibility for project completion to future generations, and risk of regulatory change will be discussed by a roundtable of utility and industry experts.
