A Master Workshop on Negotiations and Contracting for Complex Relationships

Thursday, February 7, 2019
08:30 AM - 04:30 PM Eastern Standard Time

Morgan Lewis and SIG are excited to present this popular program, with assistance from A.J. Hanna at Symphony, designed to enhance master competencies in contracting and negotiating.

This interactive workshop will include direct examples from experienced and innovative industry leaders who focus on information technology–enabled transformation as well as customer and vendor outsourcing deal management. This workshop is specifically designed for business leaders, practitioner sourcing professionals, and in-house counsel who work together to create value for their organizations.

Buying Technology in a Time of Disruption

At a time when technology is enabling unprecedented disruption, traditional sourcing focused on cost reduction, quality, standardization, compliance, and risk containment may not be effective and can even be counterproductive. In this ever-evolving environment, complex programs centered around transformation, capability enablement, differentiation, and speed are the new normal in sourcing.

In this session, we will discuss paradigms that leverage the connections between business value, the deal process, negotiations, and the contract; encourage sourcing, technology, and business alignment; and improve deal ROI, while minimizing and managing the risks that matter most. This program will be presented against the backdrop of complex ITO and BPO, digitization, automation, and the move to new delivery models, such as DevOps and hybrid cloud.

Learning Through Examples

With their broad experience in this area, our panelists present use cases to tie together the concepts covered in the workshop. These are presented orally as part of interactive discussions, and are designed to provide key takeaways that attendees can immediately implement at their respective organizations.
