On December 21, 2018, the US Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service issued long-awaited final regulations under the Bipartisan Budget Act. These regulations implement the centralized partnership audit regime, which completely overhauled the procedures for examining partnership returns, litigating disputes, and collecting resulting deficiencies.
