Litigation partner Dan Tehrani will speak on Strafford’s webinar titled “New Corporate Transparency Act: Beneficial Owner Reporting Requirements, Civil and Criminal Penalties.” Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA)  will require private companies to disclose their "beneficial owners" to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's FinCEN. The expert panel will discuss compliance provisions of the CTA and best practices for businesses subject to this new law and what further steps the new administration and Congress may take related to anti-money laundering objectives.

Topics will include:

  • What reporting requirements does the CTA include?
  • When may CTA compliance apply to partnerships and trusts?
  • What are the penalties for noncompliance?
  •  When are CTA regulations likely to be finalized?
