The conference provided a comprehensive review of legal and technical issues concerning encryption and the circumstances in which law enforcement may obtain encrypted information balanced against privacy and other interests. The conference's opening keynote was presented by Cyrus Vance Jr., New York County District Attorney. The keynote speech was given by Rod Rosenstein, Deputy Attorney General, US Department of Justice.
