The tax laws have changed dramatically in 2013. This session will describe the new laws and discuss how they impact both planning for new ESOP transactions and planning for existing ESOP companies. Examples and planning suggestions will be presented.

Department of Labor investigations of ESOPs are on the rise and the DOL's approach to investigations is more aggressive than ever. This program will highlight what the DOL is challenging in recent lawsuits and investigations, and provide practical advice on how ESOP fiduciaries and plan sponsor companies can anticipate and satisfy the concerns of the DOL and resolve investigations without litigation. A representative from the Chicago Regional Office of the DOL has been invited to speak on the panel.
