08:30 AM - 10:30 AM Pacific Standard Time

In October 2016, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) published a wide- ranging study on Patent Assertion Entity (PAE) activity in the areas of patent licensing and patent infringement litigation. Please join us over breakfast and a cup of coffee as we discuss the FTC’s study, its suggested reforms, and its potential ramifications.

Topics will include:

  • Which types of PAEs generate the most licensing revenue?
  • How effective are demand letter campaigns?
  • What types of patents do PAEs acquire and assert?
  • Industries that are most frequently targeted
  • FTC’s suggestions for reform
  • Reactions to and further developments in light of the FTC’s study
