Institute of Intellectual Property (IIP) Seminar: “What is the Next Step to Protect Data Recourse in Japan?: A Comparison between California’s Trade Secret Law and Japan’s Policy Movement”

Associate Akiko Araki spoke about data protection issues in Japan and California at the IP seminar hosted by Institute of Intellectual Property.

Akiko’s presentation focused on the recent policy movement of Japan’s data protection legislations mainly in trade secret protection law, and compared the Japanese system with California’s trade secret law, which has been seen as key aspect of driving innovation in Silicon Valley. Also, she discussed the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (DTSA).
