MCLE’s 4th Annual Legal Services Conference 2016

Morgan Lewis is proud to be a co-sponsor of MCLE’s 4th Annual Legal Services Conference 2016 which brings together the Massachusetts legal services community. Legal aid and pro bono advocates throughout the state convene to discuss the impact of legal aid, and the different avenues legal aid can take to make a difference.

This year’s Conference places special emphasis on legal aid’s utilization of multiple tactics to effect change. The day begins with a panel addressing coming together of advocates to respond to the SNAP crisis, which is immediately followed by a Keynote Panel featuring a voice from the judiciary, the legislature, government, and a community organizer, who collectively address the role of legal aid in their respective settings. During our afternoon breakout session you have the option of honing up on legislative advocacy in Lobbying 101, exploring the role and process of community lawyering, or discussing the collaborative approach taken in Massachusetts to address mass incarceration and its collateral consequences. Finally, finish the day celebrating some of the most important victories—inside and outside of the courtroom—that the legal services profession has claimed this year.
